Northern Wheatears at Templeton Beach

The wheatears have started arriving in Ireland for the breeding season, flying all the way from south of the Sahara from countries such as Somalia and Senegal. We knew that going to the beach would be the best place to see them at the moment and this male couldn't have chosen a better spot to perch as the yellow lichen and sandy cliffs complimented his plumage so well.
